“This bedroom set will be nice in my room.” Trey said pointing to a king size bed. I’m not gonna lie, it was really nice.

“That’s huge.”

“Look at it this way ma. If you get it now, I won’t need one for years to come. It’ll grow with me.” Sira shook her head.

“I’ll take this one Miss Freeman for the guest room.” Tyree pointed out a queen size bedroom set.

“Did you really just pick out a set?” I joked.

“You know I’m always there. Why not make it comfortable?” He shrugged.

“Because then you won’t leave.” Sira responded with a laugh.

“True.” Him and Trey walked around the furniture store picking things they wouldn’t mind having in their own house once they get older.

“What do you think about this one?” I asked Sira. It was a black lacquer set, with matching dressers, nightstands and lamps.

“That’s pretty. You think this one is too high off the ground?” She pointed to a cherry wood set that had big mattresses and did seem high off the ground.

“Just get a small step stool to match it. Who the hell is gonna see it anyway?” Sira doesn’t have a man and the only people going to see it, are Trey and me.

“You’re right. I really like this one too.” She used the small step ladder someone left and climbed on top. I joined her and we both laid back.

“Thanks for always being there for me Vida.”

“Always sis.” We laid there until we heard someone clear their throat.

“You like this set, I see.” The woman said.

“Yes. By any chance is there a matching step stool for it?”

“We don’t have an exact match for it, but we do have something close.” She walked off and returned with this cloth type of stool. It was cute and Sira stepped on and off to see if it worked.

“I want it.”

“Can I interest you ladies in a living room set?” We looked at each other. How did she know what we were looking for?

“Your sons said y’all recently moved in and were in need of everything.” She walked us over to where the boys were. We didn’t correct her on if both of the boys were ours. Its none of her business and Tyree is with us all the time anyway.

“Ma, this sectional is nice for the family room.” It was gray with two recliners on the end and a section to put your cups and remotes in.

“We can do a different set in the living room.” I told the lady who ended up walking us around the store and showing more than we could handle. We wanted everything in there.

Anyway, the lady gave us a 25% discount on the total being we purchased every piece of furniture there for every room; including the fifth bedroom we made into an office. We ordered two small but decent size desks, along with the chairs to match and some decor for the walls.

The loan for the salon went through and I was ecstatic. It seemed like everything was going right for us.
